As a part of LCU Washington, seven LCU students began summer internships in our nation’s capital recently. The interns will be working in entry-level professional jobs related to their academic majors. The students and their majors are Deborah Bowman (Music Business), Melissa Chia (Information Systems), Beau Durham (Business Administration), Michael Freeland (Exercise Science), Stephanie Lerma (Psychology), Autumn Posey (Communication Design), and Gemma Volpato (History and Psychology). While in Washington, the interns complete a rigorous co-curricular professional development component and participate in various civic engagement projects with other interns.
An initiative of the University Honors Program, LCU Washington began 2005 in cooperation with The Washington Center for Internships, the nation’s leading internship services organization. Fifty-six LCU students have participated in this premier Honors program. Through the generous support of donors, interns receive an 80% scholarship for the program.
